簡介

Randy Travis是新傳統主義(New TraditionalCountry)的代表人物，格萊美最佳鄉村男歌手。Randy Travis生於1959年5月4日，是家中六個孩子中的老二。他的父親Harold 飼養火雞、馬匹，經營著家族生意，而他的母親在一家紡織品工廠工作。Randy的父親一直希望他成為一名鄉村歌手，他的家中充滿著Hank Williams和Stonewall Jackson的個人專輯。Harold將西部行頭和吉他買給了他的四個兒子。在Randy十歲之前，他和他的兄弟Ricky 組成了二重唱，遍及西部包括小提琴協會、私人派對、VFW大廳以及各處他們可以吸引人群的地方表演。儘管很年輕，Randy帶有磁性的嗓音仍然震驚了人群。他帶領人們來到了一種回歸到藝術性和音樂性比形象更重要的時代。後來的許多歌手都在他早期的鄉村音樂中找尋靈感，他也是以後頗為大家所知的新鄉村音樂Country的先驅。
