歷史發展

樂隊於1999年由一群爵士樂的學生在北德克薩斯大學成立。.最初的陣容包括Tim Smith（主唱，吉他， 鍵盤）， McKenzie Smith（鼓），Paul Alexander（貝斯），Eric Nichelson（吉他）和Evan Jacobs（鍵盤）。他們最初的工作為“康布里德全明” —包括受Herbie Hancock影響很大的funk/jazz。 後來，樂隊更傾向於獨立搖滾的聲音。 Tim Smith放棄吹奏薩克斯，開始寫歌曲，曲風受例如音樂家 Jethro Tull, Radiohead，Bjouml;rk，和 Grandaddy的影響。
