個人經歷

macklemoreMacklemore在常綠州立大學獲得學士學位。2000年，他以Professor Macklemore名字發行了EP《Open Your Eyes》。2005年，他發行了自己 的首張正式專輯《The Language of My World 》。2009年9月，他發行了Mixtape《The Unplanned》，他以自己的毒品經歷創作出了大受好評的歌曲“Otherside”。Macklemore每年會給冬粉們舉辦一個披薩派對，冬粉們有機會通過歌唱，畫畫等方式來得到與自己偶像見面的機會。在個人方面， Macklemore並沒有出生在一個音樂世家。但是其父母都很支持兒子的音樂旅程。從社會身份和地位來講，Macklemore是一個受壓迫受歧視的人。Macklemore曾是一個吸毒者，在吸毒的過程中他的名聲大跌，也讓他自己無所適從，因此開始戒毒。但Macklemore已經成功戒除毒癮，並在一步步走回樂壇。也正因如此，他的歌曲裡面包含著數個對消費主義、性別平等、種族平等和毒癮的看法和觀念。提倡人們不應該戴有色眼鏡歧視別人。

Ten Thousand Hours隨著一個明亮的前奏和Macklemore詩一般的歌詞，專輯拉開序幕。根據作家Malcolm Gladwell 的理論，不考慮天賦，一個人想要熟練掌握一門技藝，至少要有一萬個小時的練習。歌名由此而來。The greats werent great because at birth they could paint/The greats were great cause they paint a lot.
