樂隊歷史

儘管樂隊第一次演出是在馬里蘭州巴爾的摩，但正式成立是在2004年10月，並由Shawn Milke, Patrick Thompson, Dennis Lee, Steven Tomany 和 Daniel Magnuson五人組成。Alesana是2005年第一支加盟Tragic hero唱片公司的樂隊。2005年5月他們發布了第一張唱片“try this with your eyes closed。同年，Will Anderson取代了Daniel Magnuson鼓手的位置。2006年發布的專輯”On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax“，靈感取自於希臘神話。比如Ambrosia，取材於《邁達斯國王和他的點金術》；The Third Temptation of Paris取材於特洛伊戰爭。2006年他們加入了Fearless唱片公司，2008年，專輯On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax曾在billboard榜單上位居44。2008年，Alesana又完成了最新專輯”Where Myth Fades to Legend“的錄製。專輯於08年6月3號發布，並引起網路轟動。歌曲中所有女聲都由吉他手 Shawn Milke的姐姐Melissa完成。同上一張專輯相比，新專輯多數的歌的靈感都來自樂隊成員最喜歡的格林兄弟中的寓言故事，除了”as you wish“取材於《公主新娘》。All Night Dance Parties In The Underground Palace則來源於安徒生童話《紅舞鞋》，是Shawn Milke寫給他未婚妻的。“This is Usually the Part Where People Scream ”是美劇“英雄”的寫照。“Obsession is Such an Ugly Word”的特點就是樂隊所有vocals參與的一部作品。2009年1月20日，“Seduction”的MV正式發布；2009年3月10日專輯“punk goes pop 2發布，其中包括由alesana翻唱的Justin Timberlake的作品”what goes around...comes around“。2009年7月，alesana開始投入第三張專輯的編寫中，根據Shawn Milke描述，新專輯會命名為”The Emptiness“。7月中旬，alesana的myspace頁面應Shawn的要求，重新編排，將主題直接導向新專輯的構思。專輯“The Emptiness”於2010年發布。這張專輯深受詩人埃德加·愛倫·坡的“Annabel Lee”影響。在這張專輯裡，主人公有個名叫Annabel Lee的愛人，而她在第一首歌開始之前就已經死去了。歌名In Her Tomb By The Sounding Sea是這首詩的最後一句。
