1996年，R. Kelly為籃球上帝麥可·喬丹(Michael Jordan)的電影《Space Jam》錄製的單曲《I Believe I Can Fly》成為了他最偉大的單曲之一，在1997年度第40屆格萊美頒獎中，R. Kelly憑藉著這首單曲，而一舉獲得了最佳影視歌曲(Best Song Written Specifically For A Motion Picture Or For Television)，最佳RB男歌手(Best Male RB Vocal Performance)，最佳RB歌曲(Best Rhythm BluesSong)三項大獎。這也讓R. Kelly個人的音樂事業進入了全盛期，隨後他創作的單曲《Gotham City》又入選當年的動作大片《蝙蝠俠與羅賓(Batman Robin)》的電影原聲。在1998年，R.
