簡介
Powerman 5000是一支1990年成立於波士頓的另類金屬樂隊，想要了解這支樂隊，我們還要從樂隊隊長兼主唱的Spider One說起。Spider One原名Michael Cummings，是我們非常熟悉的另一位金屬狂人Rob Zombie的弟弟(Rob Zombie原名Robert Cummings)，有的時候Spider One也自稱為Spider Zombie。在Powerman 5000的歌曲中，我們會聽到Spider One嗓音與他哥哥真的太像了！
樂隊發展
1990年Spider One放棄了藝術學校，花錢買了一個非常便宜的四軌錄音室和一些設備，以MC Spider的名字錄製了一些歌曲，並且在當地取得了成功。於是他組建了這支Powerman 5000樂隊，曲風以金屬為主。1991年，吉他手Adam 12加入樂隊，這對樂隊產生重要影響。樂隊在1994年和1995年分別錄製了兩張獨立唱片True Force和The Blood Splat Rating System，這兩張專輯同樣在當地取得成功。1997年，樂隊與Dreamworks Records簽約，並且以Mega!! Kung Fu Radio的名字重新發行了The Blood Splat Rating System這張專輯。1999年的專輯Tonight the Stars Revolt!終於使樂隊獲得了更大的成功。專輯中包含了像When Worlds Collide, Nobodys Real,和Supernova Goes Pop這樣的熱門單曲，最終賣掉了超過100萬張。接下來的一張專輯Anyone For Doomsday?卻取消了預定的發售日期，原因是網際網路上瘋狂的非法下載。但最後還是在2001年通過Spider One自己的廠牌Megatronic Records發行。Spider在接受採訪時表示，這張專輯聽起來與前兩張太像了，他想要做些新的東西出來而不是重複自己。2003年，他們發行了一張更加朋克的專輯Transform。之後Dreamworks Records被收購，Powerman 5000沒有隨Dreamworks一起轉投新公司。而是暫時呆在自己的廠牌下。2006年，樂隊宣布與DRT Enterainment簽約，並且已經完成了新專輯Destroy What You Enjoy的製作，這張全新的專輯將於今年8月1日發行。專輯中的Wild World將作為第一支單曲發行。Powerman 5000這支樂隊已經成立了近17個年頭，樂隊中的成員十分不固定。目前樂隊中的陣容，除了隊長Spider One外都是後來加入的，我們也不得不承認這是Spider One一個人的樂隊。
